What a great idea! Someone has been breaking into the storage container at my business but I can’t afford to hire a security guard. If I could monitor the footage from home, I could probably catch them in the act and get them arrested!

That’s too funny! I can just imagine someone putting a hidden video camera that looks like a smoke detector right next to their old smoke detector. It almost seems too hard to believe that someone could be this dumb.

I’m glad I read this and I especially appreciate you for including the links that show the laws broken down by individual states.

I need to install video surveillance cameras at my business but I really want to make sure that I’m not breaking any laws. The last thing I need is a lawsuit because I violated some privacy law that I didn’t know about!

We recently purchased some wireless video cameras for our clothing store and we’re loving them. We were having a problem with shoplifting but we weren’t sure where it was really happening.

The cameras we bought look like smoke detectors. We can easily move them from location to location without the hassle of rewiring everything. We found out that this group of shoplifters had found a nice little “blind spot” near our fire escape where they could stuff merchandise in their coats.

After putting a wireless camera back there, we were able to catch them red handed and solve our problem.

I definitely recommend using wireless video cameras!

I think it really depends on your motives for using hidden video cameras. If you’re some kind of a peeping tom, I don’t think it’s ethical.

I don’t, however, have a problem using this kind of technology for the purpose of making sure your loved ones are safe.

This kind of thing makes me furious!!!!! Last year I bought a nanny cam and found out that our babysitter was doing drugs while she was supposed to be taking care of my two young children.

Parents!!! Keep your kids safe!!!!! Buy a nanny cam!!!!!!

Thanks so much for writing this! I have a cabin that is in a rural area and some of the other cabins have been vandalized lately. I’ve been wondering what I was going to do. Now I have my answer. I wondered if fake video cameras will really scare them away.

I’m going to buy some that have flashing lights so they look more real and I’m going to put some signs up letting people know that they could be caught on video if they try to damage my cabin. I hope it will work!
